Terradigm Paper
TNPL globally pioneered the manufacture of newsprint from bagasse.  In doing so, the company redefined the technology of manufacture of printing and writing paper from bagasse.  The mill is specifically designed for bagasse-based paper manufacture.

Millions of trees are cut everyday to meet the growing demand for paper, affecting the global eco-system.  Bagasse represents a suitable alternative.  It is environmentally-friendly on a number of counts:  it is a renewable resource; it consumes a relatively low amount of chemicals in the pulping and bleaching process; its effluents are less harmful.

Bagasse-made paper is known to be superior in quality compared to the conventional wood-based paper in terms of  optical and surface properties.  As a result, bagasse has emerged as the only viable and sustainable raw material for a clean future.

TNPL has harnessed renewable resources to enhance its self reliance in power.  TNPL’s 18 MW wind farms provide provide clean energy to the plant.

61.12 MW of captively generated power is derived from the progressive replacement of fossil fuels with agro-fuels in steam generation.  Bio-methanation plant generates methane gas from mill effluents, which is totally used to replace furnace oil in the lime kiln.

Excess electricity is transfered to the local grid.

The company possesses state-of-the-art effluent treatment plant based on the activated sludge process.  The treated water does not just conform to statutory standards but has been used extensively to transform 2,000 acres of barren adjoining lands into a productive area for cane cultivation.

The solid waste from the liquid effluent treatment is recycled to generate energy.

Prudent investments and modifications have led to the installation of electrostatic precipitators at each stage of emission and enhance chimney height to maintain the quality of the ambient air in the surrounding areas.
